Crafting Personalized Stained Glass Art

A Distinctive Approach to Custom Creations

At Archangel Glass Works, each stained-glass piece is thoughtfully designed to reflect your story, space, and style through expert craftsmanship and careful material selection.

Mike Dumond, owner and lead artist at Archangel Glass Works, has dedicated over a decade to mastering the art of stained glass. His passion for the craft is rooted in a deep appreciation for how light interacts with glass, creating ever-changing visual stories. Mike combines traditional techniques with a modern sensibility to design custom pieces that reflect each client's unique vision and environment.

Crafting Light, Shaping Stories

The Tiffany copper-foil technique involves wrapping each glass piece’s edges with thin copper foil before soldering them together. This method allows for intricate designs with slender, precise lines that highlight fine details and subtle textures.
Unlike traditional leaded stained glass, copper-foiling supports smaller, more delicate components, enabling detailed patterns and a refined finish. This approach suits the intimate scale and natural themes of our custom panels and art pieces.

How Copper-Foiling Shapes Our Art

I’ve always been drawn to stained glass, especially the way light moves through it. As the light shifts throughout the day, the piece transforms, colors turn vivid or subdued, and textures and patterns cast new effects. The result feels almost magical.

My ready-made pieces are inspired by nature, flowers, animals, insects, and aquatic life. For custom work, I talk with clients about what they want, draw from their individual experiences, and choose colors and textures that resonate with them to shape a cohesive theme.

I work primarily in the Tiffany tradition, favoring its delicate lines and intimate detail.
